The french think tank “Terra Nova” in late December led a study mission to
the United States on the American presidential campaign.
Produced from 80 exclusive interviews with key
players in the campaign in Washington, New York and Chicago last November and
December, the study deciphers the innovations of the presidential campaign. It
draws lessons and recommendations for French political life, to its
modernization and revitalization of our democracy. The mission report will be
presented on January 19

Retooling Obama's campaign machine for the long haul
The vast network that helped elect Obama will be tapped to lobby lawmakers on behalf of the president, with an eye toward reelection. A service organization as a nonprofit arm is also considered.
