Europarl TV : one year after, how to improve its audience

On September 16, 2008, The European Parliament launched a new service called EuroparlTV . On Sept, 17^th, our post titled EuroparlTV is here gave initial impressions.

A year later, how has that service been doing? Difficult to measure the audience. While at the time of launching, Parliament did broadcast a fairly comprehensive document on the preliminary studies, themes, target audiences, public expected, not to mention the cost (such a rare initiative must be reported), no evidence has been released since. Nevertheless, around 3 millions of videos were seen during the last year.

Some suggestions for improving the audience of videos Europarl TV:

These suggestions do not involve technical difficulties, but only a human resource, preferably an internal one, motivated and possibly supported by an external consultant. They could be implemented gradually.

Promoting RSS feed notification (tool too often overlooked), for "mashup" applications of civil society sites, Preferably, the RSS flow should be customizable,including the choice of a language.
Links to a particular video sequence from other sections of the site Europarl (committees, site dedicated to schoolchildren ,...)
Re-use of video sequences by others for non-commercial websites
Re-broadcast through other channels: YouTube, DailyMotion, MyScape, Facebook ... (see Tips for video dissemination & publicity and http://createjournal.blogspot.com/2007/04/video-dissemination-ideas.html )
Facilitate the collection of reviews by readers thanks to adapted collaborative tools (see http://www.labnol.org/internet/sharing-widgets-for-websites/9249/ )
Organize competitions to promote the creation of video sequences by the European public

“Links to” ... (an attempt to approach the audience through the links to EuroparlTV and similar sites.
The Commission website has a slightly better reputation. But it is far from reaching the links number of the White House or the U.S. Library of Congress, but doing much better than the British Parliament.
