Public Sector Information (“PSI”) data re-use competition : What is it all about?

It’s about that we want to demonstrate through real examples of how public data can be used for much more and much more numerous than they are today. We believe that Danish companies, organizations, students, entrepreneurs and ordinary creative people can create useful digital services and information-rich mash-ups, which we in the public sector do not have the imagination to imagine. Therefore, the science minister Helge Sander printed Ideas Competition government data in games where the best ideas for solutions rewarded with financial support for realization of ideas.

The Commission released its annual report on transparency for the year 2008.

An interesting report indeed, but nothing about the registers for comitology and for the studies (which are no more  available since 2003).

But these papers were not cited in the 1049/2001 regulation.

A Partnership Digitizes Around 1.5 Million Volumes of U.S. Federal Documents

As you’ll read this is not a new project but rather one where the pilot phase is about to end and they’re preparing for the next phase. The content that’s been digitized will be accessible via Google Book Search with copies to the HathiTrust Digital Repository.

The project began in 2007 with CIC (Committee on Institutional Cooperation) and Google partnering to digitize up to 10 million volumes. You can learn more here, read the agreement, and checkout the detailed FAQ.

This toolkit shows departments and agencies how to conform to this policy and the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, Version 1.0. The toolkit is designed for Victorian Government business managers and web site owners to enable them to effectively present the business case for accessibility and manage the processes involved..."
